About Us

The Thomas Hunter Honors Program is designed to equip outstanding students at Hunter College with the skills needed to pursue interdisciplinary studies. Every semester, students with a GPA of 3.65 or higher and between 24 and 70 credits (with 15 of those credits completed at Hunter) are invited to interview for the program. Admitted students are expected to satisfy requirements that helps them expand their horizon, exploring a variety of disciplines instead of focusing singularly on their primary major.

The program is governed by a Council on Honors consisting of professors from a variety of disciplines in keeping with the interdisciplinary mission of the program. The professors are all well-established scholars in their respective fields. The students in program are also promising scholars and achievers in their own fields, with many of students winning major scholarships and fellowships and getting into reputed graduate programs. The Thomas Hunter Honors Program: News and Updates is an initiative taken by the Council to highlight the achievements of the members of the Council on Honors and the students in the program.

We welcome you to check out our website for more information on the program. We also encourage you to contact us if you are a student or a former student and would like us to highlight your latest accomplishments.
